It is so fun living in KC right now! Everywhere you look is a sea of blue! Strangers all smile and talk about the games coming up. When I pick the kids up from school, the line of walkers are all chanting, "Let's go Royals!"
Our awesome Bishop, Bishop Barnes, cancelled all the mutual activities and scouts twice to open the gym for watch parties! We BBQd and everyone brought sides! It was a blast!
Robbie's homework has been to watch the game and bring in the score! He stays up listing to play-by-plays on my phone. So into it!

Mom to the Rescue
As I've mentioned before, my house falling apart gives me serious anxiety! It sounds so silly--it's just a house, but it's my world and the one I'm in charge of. I feel out of control and helpless if I can't fix it. And...Rob's gone. So, SuperMom came to the rescue! My mom came out to help me during the craziness of it all. Our project to keep my mind off the termites and water damage: My Master Bathroom!

Home Havoc
Oh the anxiety of being a homeowner!!! It's no secret I have battled termites here. I've had them come treat three times! They just kept telling me that there must be a leak, since termites have to return to the ground for moisture (and mine clearly weren't). Well, one night, during a particularly hard rain storm, I went downstairs into the basement for something, and found this:
Leaks!!! The leaks were exactly where I'd been getting termite damage! I called my contractor friend, who came out the next day and caulked up what he thought was the problem. I asked if he'd also replace the rotted siding the termites had done. Only, we soon realized the entire floor joist had been eaten away.
So, they took it out! Lucky for us, they found a way to just slide out a new one through my garage--no taking off the door and front of my house!
While doing demolition, I had them cut open that wall we first found termite damage--just so I can disclose and be confident in it when we resell. Ironically, the termites only ate the paper on the drywall! I total blessing!

TGIF
Rob has a trauma rotation in Las Vegas for three months! That's right, three months! October through December. No need to cry, though! I decided to make things fun! So, I let each of the kids invite a friend or two over for TGIF! We made pizza, had sundaes, and watched Honey I Shrunk the Kids! So fun!
