Biker Gang
All that Christmas and birthday money from grandparents and great-grandparents paid off! The boys decided to put their funds together (they had over $350 together) and buy a mini-bike--the Doodle Bug! It runs on gas and is a total hoot! Our home teacher started his own little biker gang that goes cruising every Sunday afternoon. Well, when he found out about the minibike, they officially invited Ty into the club! They cruised around our neighborhood in a line (and slowly). It looked so darling, and Ty thought he was serious stuff!

Watkins Mill
A promise is a promise...unfortunately! While making it our business to discover the best biking trails this summer, we happened about Watkins Mill--as a potential fishing spot, too! Rob PROMISED the boys he'd take them fishing Memorial Day...but it was pouring! No deterrence here, though; they all just put on hoodies and braved the storm!
Well, for a little while, until Ty and Jimmy headed to the car to dry off.
But then Robbie caught a catfish...
So they headed back out, hardly dressed, and struck gold!
We promised to go back another day...this one much prettier

Standards Week
I seriously LOVE being in Young Womens! This year we had our 2nd annual Standards Week. Not gonna lie, it is a TON of work, but the kids love it--so its worth it! This year, the theme was EMBARK and it was missionary-themed. They got their mission calls at the beginning of the week (this is a zone picture).
I made the welcome home posters...this is my graffiti-inspired oneAfter doing a mission-tour, the kids "came home" to America--full of video games, slide show, photo booth, food etc.

School
Robbie 3rd Grade
Ty 1st Grade
Robbie sobbed when he found out he got Miss Finkle. I am actually writing this in November, so I have some hindsight...she is FANTASTIC!!! I volunteer in the classroom every week; she adores Robbie, allows him to move at an accelerated pace, and his confidence has blossomed!
Ty got Mr. Andreasen--his second choice, but the same teacher Robbie had. Ty is happy in there--still the perfect child at school and my little energizer at home!
Jimmy started preschool at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He is my very...un-shy child.

He has the cutest teachers! They did a pajama day, and the whole room was lit up and glowing! So fun! He is in the same class with Hudson, and Aubrey--pretty sweet since we carpool!

End of Summer
What a great summer it has been! Lots of family. Lots of swimming (Jimmy is a total fish now! He dives down to the bottom of the deep end (5 ft) and touches the bottom). Lot of baseball and soccer.
Aricka worked the BYU Sports Camps and sent each of the boys their own shirts, balls, lanyard, backpack and water bottle. They felt super cool!
After putting together the pancake breakfast, our neighbors thought we should make it a regular thing. So, Tim and Lori hosted a culdesac BBQ--we all brought sides and stayed out talking until it got dark. Then we played night games. I love 107th Terrace!
Ty making yet another fashion statement. It's the Celtic blood in him speaking, I think.
