Last Day in California

We headed to South Jetty for a little more beach and tide pools. Headed to the Channel Islands Museum, went to harbor, and finally to Andreas for fresh halibut! It was a perfect way to end the vacation!

 Rob arrived Christmas Eve, so really, that was the best part!

That night we went to Unbroken, the movie about Louie Zamparini that we'd been looking forward to for months! We were disappointed--wasn't redeeming as the true story was! But, still an amazing day!

At home

Really? This is December?!

My dad took the boys to the hardware store. In the truck. With the dogs--just like he does every time they see him. And, as always, he buys them tools to add to their collection; how much more manly of a morning could they have, right!? Oh wait, until they built something! My dad took out his saw and taught the boys how to make a box and also stain wood.

They each glued and used the nail gun. They pushed the on and off switch. Ty was so amazed by it all, that he spent the next few hours building a house from the scraps. He gave it to Rob for Christmas
