Naps

I'm not really sure when kids are supposed to be done with naps; I suppose it just depends on the child. Robbie is not yet 2 1/2, but has started complain about naptime. I kept making him go down anyway, because, as all of you moms out there know--that is OUR time! Well, I finally decided to let him stay awake, and to my dissapointment--he did great...totally happy all day. The next day he was cranky, though, so I made him nap. Day three he wanted to try again, so I ran my errands during what would have been naptime. Well, I was putting the groceries away in the kitchen and I came out to find him like this: asleep standing up. Needless to say, we are keeping naps a while longer!

Haha! I love how kids can sleep in crazy positions! I'm glad you will still get some time to yourself for a while!

I have an entire scrapbook page of funny ways K fell asleep when he was little. You've got to admire how they can just drop anywhere, anytime they are tired:) Keep the nap as long as you can. I still make my 10 year old nap on Sundays because I NEED him to!

Keep 'em as long as you can! Quincy is almost 4 1/2 and she still naps, I don't think she really needs to, but I sure love it!

Even if you forgo naps, we still have quiet time. If they make the choice to not take a nap then they need to quietly read in their room. It has worked well for me!
