13.1, baby!

For anyone who knows me, surely they are falling out of their seats right now, but yes, I totally ran a half marathon!!! My sister, Aricka, signed me and my two brothers up for it as a team. But, I don't run! For my first run, I ran to the corner up the street . . . and walked home and cried. I told Rob I was sure I was going to die and knew I couldn't run it! I couldn't run half of one mile, let alone 13 full ones!!! Good friends of mine forced me to train. They'd call me and say, "Put your shoes on. I'm in your driveway." They'd show up at 6 am. So . . . to Rebecca, Hazel, Mischa, and Janet--thank you!!! The longest I ran was five miles. But, miracle of miracles . . . on race day I ran the whole thing!!! And . . . I loved it! Would totally do it again!

My poor sister struggled. She went to a party the night before and had chips and salsa for dinner! Her poor muscles completely gave out twenty feet before the finish line, and she collapsed. My sweet brothers carried her across the finish line!

VICTORY!
