Rained-Out Carnival

There was only one day that the whole family would be in town. Saturday. So we planned a big carnival. Mom rented a huge Jolly Jump. Dad ordered all the grandkids Raingutter Ragatta kits. We had prizes ready...and it rained! Can you believe it? In California in the middle of the drought--that's the day it rained! But, it made it fun anyway!

Here's the kids putting their final touches on their boats. I have to say, Ty was so cute about this. Like most things, he becomes pretty consumed with one thing. When my dad gave him the kit, he went right to it. Grandpa showed him how to shape it etc., and Ty worked tirelessly...for days! He painted it before anyone else...so intense and excited. And...his boat did really well, too!

On your marks...
