This year for Jimmy's birthday, we decided to make him feel special: he spent the whole day alone with Mommy and Daddy! We took him down to Legends and ate at T-Rex Café--he loves all the moving dinosaurs and the fish tanks (which we got to sit right next to!!!). We went to Cabela's too so he could see all the animals. We then picked up the older boys from school, had our own little party and opened presents and just played! I opted not to have a party this year--he had playgroup at our house last week and has been fighting a cough and cold, so I figured he would be happier to just be with his parents anyway! And he was! He felt so special!
Jimmy got some Jake and the Neverland Pirates toys, bubbles, a dinosaur shirt, and a kite.

Snow Slam!
We were slammed with snow! Four days of school were cancelled! The guy who plows our streets knew I had boys, so he got all the snow he could and piled it heaps next to our driveway--a perfect setting for a master snow fort! The boys all skied on our neighbor's hill (and we went spring skiing a few weeks later--amazing!!! Jimmy skied the whole day on the big hill--Rob just tied a rope around him). It was such a blast--finally . . . the whole family skiing together--a dream come true!!!

Random Sayings This Week
Ty:
"How many people have died?" "Billions." "What? I don't think there's gonna be room in heaven!"
"You can't bring guns to school? Seriously!? Why not?"
"It is so dark outside! How embarrassing!"
"I wanna be an ice cream man when I grow up. Then I can just drive around and eat ice cream all day."
Ty: "So, when we get married do we just go to a church and it's filled with girls . . . and we just pick one?" Rob: "No, that's called BYU." Ty looked horrified! :)
"Good grief!"
"Toody!" He says this all the time!
"Mom, can I please have_______? I'll give you my whole piggy bank!" He swears he can buy anything. Favors. Treats. Privileges. I've never given in, and yet he keeps trying. He's SO persistent (like Rob!).
"I can't go straight to the hospital from church!" "Why?" ""Cause I'll look so handsome and all the girls will surround me! That's what Aricka does, huh? She chases all the handsome boys."
Robbie: "I really hope I'm not fat when I grow up."
"I want to be a movie critic. All I do is watch movies all day!"
Speaking to Ty regarding math: "You got beat by a GIRL!!? You gotta be kidding me!"
As we pull over to let a cop pass: "How come everyone is so respectful to cops? I'm gonna be a police when I grow up."
"No way! Seriously?" Rob always laughs at Robbie because he looks like Rob and sounds like me!
Jimmy: We're a little male-heavy in this house. "Mommy, you not a girl! You a boy!" "No, I'm not, I'm a girl." "No, you're a mommy!"
"Mom, I can stand when I go potty, 'cause I have a big private!"
"Wet's Snug-go!" (I hear this about every five minutes. He wants to snuggle ALL day!
"Can I touch yours moles?" (It's totally gross, but Jimmy finds comfort in my moles. He touches them and makes this strange humming/gurgle sound of satisfaction when he does and it puts him in a trance. Rob and I die laughing! He does the same thing when we snuggle. I think it's safe to say I nursed him too long :))
Imagine Jimmy dancing awkwardly. "Jimmy, do you need to go potty?" "I can't! I'm busy dancing!" It's like the chicken and the egg--can't stop to go potty, but can't go potty because he's dancing!
"No mom, we're supposed to punch people GENTLY."
"How many people have died?" "Billions." "What? I don't think there's gonna be room in heaven!"

Soccer Moms
My friend Janet and I were sitting at our kids' soccer games and started talking. "Wouldn't it be so fun to get out there and play too!?"
Well, Janet took the initiative and found the KC Soccer Dome (which ironically is sponsored by Rob's work--who knew!)where a women's indoor league plays once per week. We told some friends. Got a team, The Soccer Moms, and well, definitely had a blast! We were TERRIBLE, but had a blast!
The worst week was when we played the high school's varsity team. They stopped the scoreboard after it was 10 to 0--pretty sure that was first quarter. And the young little snobs wouldn't even "Good Game" us at the end. Whatever. In my vanity, I wanted to see if I still had it. I sought out their quick little forward and raced her to the ball. Totally won. Totally couldn't control the ball. Lost it anyway.
Season's Highlight: Our WIN!! Okay, the other team forfeited for lack of players, but we still got to play a game, just sending some of our players to fill their roster. I was on fire that game. I scored 3 times! Lesson: I'm awesome against people who aren't.
Rob laughed at our first game. He said I didn't know how to attack the ball. I ended the season with two technical fouls; I'm a fast learner. :) I'm off for 8 weeks and will do another season in the spring. In the meantime, I've learned a ton! 1. I'm actually kind of athletic. 2. I can be aggressive. 3. I'm still fast. 4. I have NO ball-handling skills. 5. Defense is not my forte 6. I'm really out of shape. 7. It's okay to humiliate yourself every now and then (get out of your comfort zone--it makes life fun!). 8. Sports are bonding. I got closer to 17 other girls. My kids loved going to games (I even brought the neighborhood boys).

Rob's Birthday!
Rob turned 34!!! The boys picked out some outfits for him--and I took him to Ruth's Chris (oh my gosh, so good!) cuz it was Restaurant Week and they had a deal!
When I first met Rob, I wanted him to be mine. Like, BAD! I totally stalked him, buddied up with his roommates--I had his schedule taped to my wall . . . no, seriously! It's funny looking back now--I was really concerned about how Rob would be as a dad. He'd never changed a diaper in his life. Every time he was around little kids, he acted weird and uncomfortable or like they were annoying. If only I'd known he'd be the best dad! The boys basically worship him. Rob's favorites? Easy:
1. Me (or at least that's what I'm going to put!) :)
2. His sons
3. His sons playing sports
4. Playing with his sons
5. Watching movies with good food
6. Good food, period
7. BYU
8. Sports
9. Did I mention the kids, sports, and food? :) He's a simple man!
Happy Birthday! We love you!

Skiing
We took the boys skiing on the 23rd & 24th--Jimmy did great for his first time! Robbie is as good as me, so on day two, Rob took the little boys home while Robbie and I stayed and skied for a few more hours. What a dream!

Indoor Beach
It's been freezing! So Ty decided to make a little beach in his room.
His little hamster lounging on his chair on the beach! He's looking up at a sun taped to the wall. :)
Ty and Jimmy chilled in the room with shades and all!
