Zoo Much Fun!

The St. Louis Zoo was such a blast. We got there early so Robbie could go to the Children's Zoo and pet and feed the goats, bunnies, and guinea pigs. He loved it until we put him on the ground and a goat started coming toward him (we had to be holding him for the rest of the time with the goats). Another wild adventure: a cheetah escaped and was wondering around the zoo! We had to go "hide" in the animal recovery shelter for about 10 minutes until the cheetah was locked back up. Rob wore a smug little smirk on his face for a few minutes, just begging me to ask him why. Finally he blurted out, "Don't worry babe. I'm packin'," before smiling and pointing to his bulging ankle (he favors the ankle hoster). It made me laugh--he makes me laugh everyday.

Kirksville Firehouse Tour

Sight-Seeing St. Louis

Since we have lived in Missouri, we have never left our little town of Kirksville! Well, after Rob finished off his first quarter, we decided it was time to check out a little "MO" of the Show-Me State. Little Robbie was getting over a bug, so he wasn't super enthused this trip (until we got to the zoo, that is), but it was still a great time. Rob's dad was sure to remind us that it was the murder capital of the U.S. last year, so when we got to St. Louis, we were suprised to see how quiet and clean it felt. Fun trip!

Trunk-or-Treat

After two trunk-or-treats, we decided that trick-or-treating could wait until next year (Robbie grabbed enough suckers to last a few months). Anyway, I really just had to post this because Big Rob is so proud of this picture. He dressed up as a cowboy and totally looks the part (I must add that Rob says he looks so good because he simply dressed as himself . . . poor guy, always aspiring to cowboydom).

I can hardly believe that Robbie is already a year old, but sure enough, he is. We had some friends come over for dinner and cupcakes. Robbie wasn't quite sure how presents work, but he definitely understood cupcakes! From the moment the chocolaty goodness was in his hands, it was in his mouth; he literally started inhaling it--it was so deep in his nose we couldn't get it all out. Oh well; as you see, he loved it.

Baby Boating--Summer 2007

Peter Pan is Growing Up!

After years of trying to get Rob to be Peter Pan for Halloween, I finally decided I would have to get a man in tights another way--the little guy!Though Robbie didn't completely grasp the Trick-or-Treat concept, he sure was excited every time someone offered him candy. Next year, though, we are going to practice going for the chocolate instead of the suckers.

Medical School--Here we come!!!

August marks the beginning of another decade of education. Rob started his first year of medical school at ATSU in Kirksville, Missouri. The volume of material is just insane, really. Meiosis and Mitosis were covered in 5 minutes (each)! He is actively involved in intramurals (his football team is undefeated and his basketball team tied for 1st place). I am busy with workout group, cooking club, Angel Tree, and the SAA, but most of my time goes to my little man, Robbie. He's growing so fast and is just hilarious.

Swimming Lessons

Yesterday was our last day of swimming lessons! We took a Parent/Tot swimming class at the local sports academy and had a blast. Little Robbie just loves the water and has no fear of splashing or screaming kids (or adults) and has some major kicking skills. We are still working on blowing bubbles and being excited about going under water.
