Ty and Miss Kathy

It seems so long ago that Ty had his first day of preschool at Miss Kathy's!

Miss Kathy is moving to Nebraska to be closer to her kids, so this was her last Mother's Day Picnic! Ty dreaded having to sing for like a week before. "Everyone will smile at me, Mom!" Oh no! Can't have that! I taught him the look-above-their-heads trick which he mastered with serious exaggeration! His eyes were rolled so far back in his head I thought he was going to fall over backwards! And then he inherited my mom's nervous tongue (as a little girl her tongue would go wild in her mouth)--so his eyes were rolled back and it looked like he stuffed a small chicken in his cheek, but he made it through the performance! So hilarious! (Mind you, he's a master of stage presence compared to Robbie, who turned completely backwards during his first performance!)

Though he still will be in Kindergarten next year, he still got to go to "graduation" and be one of Miss Kathy's Preschool Stars! There's that tongue again!

Such a personable little guy! :)

Just a day at Miss Kathy's. We got to go in a buy all her stuff after her last day--I walked out with 5 garbage bags, another medium sized bag, and a few large outdoor items too!
The Mother's Day Picnic--getting my present from Ty. Miss Kathy does preschool in her basement for $13/day; if you can't make it, she doesn't charge. The kids bake with her, paint, go to the park . . . she does Bible Stories once per week and they do a cute prayer/song before lunch. We'll miss her!!!

(Robbie was at baseball practice!)

Ty will be attending an accelerated preschool next year.

Mother's Day

I've been blessed to have an amazing mother, grandmothers, and mother-in-law. I also get to be a mother! What a happy day it is for me! (Oh, and I was proposed to on Mother's Day!) I slept in. Then Rob made sausage and eggs with fresh pineapple, bananas, blueberries, and apples. We swigged it down with Keifer and Sparking Cider--whatever! Went to church. Then Rob and the boys cleaned the house while I blogged.  And, as has been tradition, Rob did a little photo shoot with me and the boys.

Rob barbequed tri-tip, corn, and asparagus! It was delish! We played soccer and baseball and then we just chilled in the backyard. It was a great day!

Take Your Child to Work Day

Robbie stayed home with me for Take Your Child to Work Day. He tried to change Jimmy's pants, did laundry, vacuumed, grocery shopped (my favorite moment was when Jimmy somehow got poop on his hands and smeared it on the wall--Robbie got to clean that up too!) Needless to say, it wasn't noon before Robbie said, "You're job stinks!" Hilarious! It was like a free-labor day for parents--kids all over the neighborhood were out weeding, mowing, chopping down shrubs . . . But, on the bright side, our neighbor and friend Morrie, is a firefighter, so he took us to the station for a special tour!

Needless to say, they like Morrie's job better.
