Blue Lightning

Our official name is Blue Lightning (the kids came up with it) but we parents call ourselves the Stormin' Mormons. It has been a blast having both of the boys on the same team that is made up of their best friends. Rob is the head coach, but since three of the four coaches are residents, and the fourth travels as a professional sports drug tester--they need all the help they can get (as far as attendance goes!) So far, they've done great, though.
Can you tell there's a bunch of doctor's as coaches? Yes, those are surgical booties on the kids' feet (trying to teach them to use their left foot). One of the attendings Rob works with has coached and played soccer for 30 years--he says the booties work miracles!:)

Robbie steals the show--yes, this is brag time, but it is also truth time. The child is insane to watch. He scored 6 goals the first game and 4 the next (who knows how many he'll score tomorrow!) He jukes like crazy, is fast and an amazing ball handler, but he's a great defender and smart player too. Parents from the other team have come up to him after each game to tell him how great he played. I have to admit, I love it! My little superstar!
As always, Ty is my little firecracker! He's kind of all over the place and no where at the same time, but as the youngest on the team--he's doing phenomenal! He scored one goal his first game--he was so excited! Toward the end of the last game, it was like the lights went on. He started really getting in there and making some great plays! He also got tackled, trampled, and kicked in the face while he was down, but . . . he's getting back in the game, so we're so happy for him. He giggles and smiles the whole time he's out there--he's really loving it.
