Casts

What was supposed to be a fun Family Home Evening activity, turned into a nightmare. What could be more fun than getting a cast on, right? It always looked cool in elementary school when kids lined up to sign it. Oh, how I would have loved the attention! Well, now I guess this was my moment. All was well except that we ALL wanted casts (and the boys multiple) and Rob didn't have enough padding. No worries--we'll just use the stalking net, right? We're not whiners--no need for padding. We were wrong--painfully wrong!

It wasn't until Rob started sawing off the casts that we noticed it. PAIN! It burned--bad. Robbie and I actually got cut. It was traumatic, to say the least. Almost two hours of sawing, cracking, burning . . .the boys begged to never get a cast again.

Jimmy thought it was cool, though. He has his own dramas everyday--like the gash below his eye when he tripped and hit it on a corner. The child is into EVERYTHING and in a constant state of curiosity, trouble, and mess-making. It's like a mini Ty all over again!

On the bright side Rob got a lot of practice on taking difficult casts off, right? ;)
